THE BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE: JOS FAMILY CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL 2024 UNVEILED BY BARR CALEB MUTFWANG, GOVERNOR, PLATEAU STATE

Scoreline was on ground when the Governor of Plateau state, Barr Caleb Mutfwang unveiled the Jos Family Christmas 2024 Festival tagged “the beautiful experience”. The unveiling event held Monday, October 14, 2024 in Jos, the state capital.

Bearing in mind her self-imposed mandate of creating at least 25,000 jobs by 2030 through her active coverage and reportage activities targeted always at opening up the continuously dwindling economic space in order to throw up more job creation and wealth generation activities, Scoreline considers the latest move of the Governor Mutfwang led government of Plateau state a giant leap and therefore uses this medium to call for support, commitment and dedication of stakeholders to ensure effective and timely implementation.

Scoreline is optimistic that the idea behind unveiling the festival early is to give all the stakeholders (Public and Private sector actors) ample opportunities for preparations. In view of this Scoreline urges all the stakeholders to rise and prepare seriously to offer maximum collaboration required to showcase the beauty of Plateau state to the Globe as the governor envisages. The planning meetings leading to the unveiling of the event and the event proper revealed this as a core aspect of the festival. Simply put, the objective of the Jos Christmas Festival 2024 is to showcase a new Plateau state to the World, a state with abundant economic opportunities, happy and hospitable people, hardworking and resourceful.

The festival focuses systematically and strategically on securing cutting edge changes, encouraging innovations and creativity targeted centrally on opening up the economic space, throwing up new opportunities for job creation, wealth generation and massive people engagement that will culminate into sustainable economic wellbeing, lasting peace and massive influx of visitors for unique tourism experiences, investment and fun, education, research and other activities devoid of crime and criminality.

Many people that live in Plateau state, numerous others that visit and others that hear about the state speak glowingly about her very attractive beautiful sites and locations. The residents, visitors and distant admirers of the state are marveled by what they have seen or heard about the state. Of a truth what is referred to mostly are the natural endowments of the state that have remained raw, untapped and undeveloped over the years.

The present Government of Plateau state, led by Barr Caleb Mutfwang as Governor, is through the State Ministry of Tourism, and the Tourism Development Corporation (with enormous pressure from the Governor) striving very hard to change the narrative and give Tourism a boost via active private sector engagement for poverty reduction and massive employment in new and old areas of economic activities in both the short and long run.

Those that were waoed, elated, marveled and astonishingly excited by what they saw and qualified as the beauty of Plateau state, have witnessed little of the arts and crafts, artifacts, tools and food, clothing, utensils and medicine, animals and Monuments of Traditional Nigerian Architecture indigenous to the people of the state, as well as their heritage. In most cases they have never witnessed the enticingly rich cultural and traditional activities that the Jos Family Festival will expose. Most people, especially, the visitors have never witnessed performance of the highly talented indigenous dance groups that have traverse many lands and visited various continents of the World to represent Nigeria in cultural events and dance competitions and have won laurels.

Aware that many people are missing out from the beauty of Plateau State, the Centre of Peace and Tourism in Nigeria, Barr Caleb Mutfwang is leading a movement to showcase the beauty of Plateau state, to attract higher traffic and multiply the income generating opportunities and capacity and create diverse openings for investment into the state through tourism development activities.

Barr Caleb Mutfwang at the unveiling of the Festival, in Jos, extended invitation to all lovers of peace, joy and happiness and urged them to participate in the Jos Family Christmas Festival 2024 designed to re-position the state effectively as the premier tourist destination.
