When men and women of this calibre decide to put down their names to organize a workshop or class, you can be sure that information and knowledge that drive results and generate impact are more or less a given.

Recently, precisely between Monday, September 9th and 11th 2024, the St Piran Anglican Church on the Plateau, through her Media Unit and in the serene capital city of Jos, Plateau State, North Central Nigeria, put together a three day Photography Workshop tagged Photography Master Class organized to hone, groom, prepare, equip and release new and rebranded practitioners into the public space, men and women, young and old that are unflinchingly willing, keenly passionate and highly skillful, truly hungry and ardently committed to deploying effectively and consistently the tools and skills of Photography with Kingdom disposition, aware that the photography profession goes beyond snapping pictures and delivering them to their owners, but of a truth a calling that involves ‘casting light over darkness’, which true adherents of the Christian faith understand and cherish with relish.

To buttress the principle of casting light over darkness by the Christian faith, Vicar, St Piran Anglican Church on the Plateau Venerable Chimeziem Kingsley Anukam, a passionate and photography enthusiast drew attention of the participants of the three days’ workshop that the Lord Almighty is the first Photographer, and in view of this reference reminded them that He, the Almighty Lord made Man in His own image, which underscores the principle of photography: making of images, and therefore, enjoined the participants to bear in mind always that photography is a calling, a serious work of the ministry of the kingdom.

Venerable Anukam, Vicar St Piran Church, Jos

Stressing further on the above, Venerable Chimeziem Anukam, who earlier informed the participants that Man is the image of God, noted in principle that anybody that carries God’s image carries His creativity. And having also told the participants earlier that photography is a calling, the vicar reminded them that the task is to identify where the Lord is releasing them to function. He urged them to ask themselves the question ‘what part of the world (life challenges) is the Lord releasing me into?

Providing a guide to answering the above question, Ven Anukam responded: ‘To that part of the world; to that part of life that is not manifesting His Glory; to that area of life with sufficient darkness’.
