Soon after news filtered into Jos town and numerous other places in Nigeria and the Globe that the organisers of “Tour Plateau” have rebranded and expanded the scope of the Tour; and that “Tour Plateau 2024” has been announced and preparations for it commenced already, discussions in Jos city, Plateau state capital have been shifting gradually, and focusing on the coming Christmas Season tourism event.
Surprising, but interestingly so, most of the discussions have originated from outside Plateau state, by people itching to take part in the “Tour Plateau 2024” Christmas season tourism event that offers people the opportunity to visit for the first time or revisit Nigeria’s home of Tourism, a position graciously bestowed on Plateau state by nature’s comparative advantage over the other 35 states of the Nigerian federation, in terms of natural tourism endowments.
As pointed out already, the discussions which originated mostly through phone calls, were initiated by people of varied origin, backgrounds and educational attainments, reveal overwhelming desire by the callers to share from the captivating, scenic and alluring beauty of the Plateau state environments as portrayed by the numerous nature endowed tourist locations, several cuisines and other attractions in the state, that are rapidly turning the state into haven for both tourist investors and tourism enthusiasts alike.
Most of the callers reached out to their relatives, friends and loved ones resident in Plateau state to enquire from them how they can share from the God endowed, inspiring, natural and Man-made tourism endowments present in Plateau state, such as the Shere Hills, Shen Dam and 100 Steps to the Ancient Afizere settlement, the 10 Commandments, Lake Pidong and Keran Waterfalls, Wase Rock, Jos Wildlife Park and Museum of Traditional Nigerian Architecture (MOTNA), at the National Museum Jos. Numerous other attractive locations and sites also abound in Plateau state.

Funny but true, most of those that were contacted by the callers, either do not know most of the locations and sites, even when they have been hearing of them severally, or do not understand their importance, hence, they played down on the relevance of both the event and the tourists attractions sort after by the callers. However, on the insistence of the callers they did well to contact the event organizers, who have since engaged and established link with the callers. As a matter of fact some of them have gone ahead and asked to be booked for the December 2024 Christmas season event
In a related development, some of those residents of Jos city that were contacted by their friends and loved from outside of the state are fast turning into or becoming as a matter of fact tourism enthusiasts and advocates. Apart from those that contacted their friends and loved ones resident in Plateau state, several other callers contacted the organizers of “Tour Plateau 2024” directly by virtue of the fact that know some of them.
Truth be told “Tour Plateau 2024” is receiving attention, accolades and publicity, and commitment of people from far and near. Similarly, the organizers are gearing up seriously, in their plans to ensure that the tourists are giving a treat that surely will live an indelible mark, a cheering and heart-warming experience in their heart when December 2024 and the actual dates: period for “Tour Plateau 2024” is reached and afterwards booked as gone.
