Scoreline welcomes you on board the story Ken Gambo… Read on
Before much is said in this publication, Scoreline wishes to quickly outline the things that define Ken Gambo, the young economics graduate that surprised everybody that knows him when he defiled the known rules, chose the part that is less travelled and suddenly has shot himself into reckoning. Against all odds, Gambo took the bold step and ventured into agriculture, even when it was obvious that he had little or no Startup capital; did not have much land space and the few people he muted the idea of embarking into agriculture did not support, instead discouraged him.
Please note that there is nothing stopping you from desiring, wishing and wanting to be like Ken Gambo,.as a matter of fact, there is no requirement, condition or task for you to perform to feel like him. But let the truth be told, there are hurdles, tasks and serious assignments to perform, and to perform consistently, systematically and strategically very well, before anybody can pull through and become like Ken Gambo.
Fundamentally, the take-off tools going by what I have identified in him as the requirement to becoming like Ken Gambo, include, but certainly not limited to the following:
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Hardwork
- Commitment
- Courage
- Resilience
- Stewardship
- Resourcefulness
- Innovative
- Passion
- Adaptability
- Sustainability
- Self-motivation
- Customer oriented
Presently, Gambo is doing very well. The best way to capture or describe him and his performance is to say:
He is dealing heavy blows on the shaky and wobbling Nigerian economy.
Dear reader, please note that Scoreline did not discuss with Ken Gambo to come out with the list above. If you pay enough attention to the list, it is obvious they are not things that must necessarily come from an interview. As a matter of fact, Scoreline has not interviewed Gambo.
R-L: Gambo, and a Scoreline crew member |
My long years of sojourn and practice as entrepreneurship trainer, facilitator, coach and consultant have generously equipped me with some degree of orientation, ideas and experience, capacity to spot the above identified and others. I have in the past shared entrepreneurship growth and development ideas. I will still share more and more and continue to do so. Sharing entrepreneurship growth oriented knowledge, ideas and experiences are fundamental aspect of this Platform. Indeed developing the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the core objective of Scoreline.
I always conduct my study and assessment first and foremost before interacting with the entrepreneurs and business persons. I follow and monitor them, to understand some of their personal traits, behaviours and business dealings. I always want to see how they relate with their customers and thereafter draw my conclusions, before interacting with them. Business and entrepreneurship coaching occur in the field not at in the class. Anyway, the content of the list above are purely the things I observed from watching Gambo conduct his business activities.
For you wishing to be like Gambo, his dedication and commitment to sustainable farming can be your inspiration. Being aware that his hard work is feeding some of his friends, family members and other families and in some ways helping to preserve the life of many people and contributing to the effort of the Country towards improving food security, and also adding to the shaping of the economic life the nation are also very encouraging outcomes.
Those that always witness money exchanging hands between Gambo and his customers, sometimes through physical cash transactions and at other times through money transfers involving the banks, and that hear him more often than not express openly and at other times in whispers how good his sales are know that what he is doing is lucrative. Increasing number of repeat buyers is a testimony that the buyers are encouraged. Their positive statements apart from being heart-warming indicate that Gambo is touching his customers positively and that he is useful to them as well.
Are now nursing the need to join the movement? Are you moved sincerely, to encourage or support somebody to become more useful to himself/herself and not continue to wait for white collar jobs, put simply as the non-existent jobs, while the environment is littered with very lucrative opportunities waiting to be tapped?
Gambo’s passion for farming is contagious, and for this reason he is willing to share his knowledge and experience, as a matter of fact his expertise with others as a way of creating positive impact on those that are willing to fire their and hire the former staff. He is easy going, focused and success driven.
Through the likes of Gambo, Scoreline will be reaching you. Remember I have not explained in details each of the attributes identified in Gambo, as contained in the list above. I have also not shared with you his challenges, past and present and what it is that has continued to spur him to drive on.
Let me ask,
- What is it that you are passionate about?
- What is the challenge that you are facing?
- Did I tell you who the Boss is?
- Did I inform you who the former staff that should be hired is?
What? Why? When? Who and where? And of course How? Are issues to be resolved in relation with this publication...
Thanks for visiting and reading this publication. Please, keep visiting; keep reading and keep sharing and commenting in Scoreline as we collectively savour issues to make the society better
