Jere traditional Grass thatched Mud Hut |
If because you went to a University, Polytechnic or College of Education and acquired certificates, and/or other recognitions, professionally or otherwise and you think that such empowered you to discountenance and rubbish the efforts and contributions of the people of old, the ones you refer to as uneducated, illiterates and local people, time has come for you to apply the brakes.
The call for you to apply the brakes is rooted on the fact that it has become glaring that the only demonstrable thing those papers have done for you over the years is to effectively position you to showcase your now mortgaged and enslaved mentality as a black leg, a torn coat and a certificated professional slave.
The people of old, they that you castigate produced what served them and met their needs. They equally left visible marks and footsteps that are not only traceable but are still very useful and helping the present generation. If the so called people of old are alive today, they would have surpassed the records they left.
If their contributions are playing vital roles presently they can be improved upon. If you: present day educated and professionally decorated, foreign language speaking, anything home and local is bad driven generation and home deserters are unable to improve or advance what you met, is unable to contribute meaningfully and better your lot in life, and in the face of global challenge and competition, you are unable to lift your society above board, it must be because the skills and education of the so called people of the old is far, far better. The essence of education is to impact.
If the present educated generation cannot do any remarkable thing to prove they are better, no qualms of any kind, but they must be reminded that enough is enough of the castigation of the so called people of old by the present educated generation.
Before signing off, I wish to emphasize that what is local is original and in view of the benefits formally invite you to appreciate the local storage system of the Jere People showed in the picture above.
