Okata of the then-disciplinary committee in IMT is dead.Chai, an icon of discipline bows to cold hands of death. May his soul rest in peace. May God grant his family the courage to rise above the tragedy.
Chai , great Iroko Tree has just fallen... May God Almighty, give the family he left behind the fortitude to bear his irreparable Loss.
This reminds me of the Popular song in our Great IMT then that goes thus...*Ogba a ngbo negwa ngbo gi oooo , Onye na agba Ngbo mgbe Okata ga abia ya a agbagwana a Oso oo*
Impertial Disciplinarian to the Core.
While he was alive he agued that people should not pray for the souls of the dead to rest in peace because some of the souls of the dead may not deserve to be rest in peace. He added that one should pray that the soul of the dead should go to where it is entitled. He solicited that any soul that is entitled to go to hell should go to hell and if any soul is entitled to go to heaven , let the soul rest to heaven.
Mazi Okata was a deputy Rector during our time. Mazi is always against the prayers of "May his soul rest in peace" Mazi will rather prays " May his soul go to where it is entitled to go". In the same vain I pray that the soul of Mazi Okata go to where it is entitled to go.
