THE 100 STEPS TO THE ANCIENT SETTLEMENT OF THE AFIZERE'S HAS COMMENCED


A close observation of the picture above reveals a yellow portion with a black mark on the yellow portion showing the inscription 1. 

The number 1 indicates the first step, which signifies the beginning of the 100 steps journey to the ancient settlement of the Afizere people of Plateau State, North Central Zone, Nigeria.

Below are some of the pictures that were captured by our crew on the journey.  The pictures clearly reveals the first thing that confronts the visitor soon after climbing the first step that leads the way for the onward journey to the ancient Afizere settlement.

 






 

The last 6 pictures above show the Agwom Palace. The Agwom is the head of the community and the Palace is one of the revered of the ruler of the ancient people of the Afizere's during their settlement in this ancient place. The Agwom Palace serves many purposes to the ruler in particular and the ancient people of the Afizere's in general. The purposes include but not limited to receiving visitors and serving as the arena for dispute settlement by the Agwom.
