Before the first step in the journey is mounted |
Today is October 1, 2023. October 1st is a remarkable day in Nigeria. For the year 2023 and the Nigerians all over the Globe, today marks the 63 years of Nigeria’s independence from colonial rule, and is celebrated nationally as “Independence Day” in Nigeria.
To commemorate the day, the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) through office of the Interior Minister declared today a public holiday, which makes it a work free Day for the Public Sector and few members of the Private Sector, in particular those of the organized Private Sector in Nigeria.
We decided to mark the 63 years Anniversary of Nigeria’s independence in a very special way. We did this, by taking a trip to an ancient settlement of the Afizere's. Among the benefits is to update our dear reader with such scenic beauty in Nigeria. Another reason is to relax by way of relieving and lifting off the hardworking crew members some emotional ans sentiment associated with the job. This unique trip reminds us the crew members of some ancient events, in particular relationships and migrations.
Again and again we wonder why anybody can be considered educated who know next to nothing about his/her root, the immediate environment and the things associated with it.
Away from this wondering and worry, we invite you to join us as we display in pictures and brief story format the account of the voyage to the ancient settlement for your pleasure. This voyage took us to one of the most amazing tourist sites in the city of Jos, the capital of Plateau state, North Central Nigeria. It is a voyage of 100 steps that led to one of the ancient settlements in Plateau state. It is a trip to the early day settlement of the Afizere people of Plateau state.
Scoreline will be telling the story bit-by-bit throughout the month of October. Welcome on board the trip…
The write up on the Banner reads... Have you visited 100 steps to Afizere settlement?
For me to at least answer the question confidently and in the affirmative, I decided to embark the 100 steps journey to one of the most amazing places in the Globe.
Thanks for reading and following us on this Platform. The story of the journey will continue on this Platform in a subsequent publication. Remember to Like us, to comment and invite others and also to share the link with others too.
