Following our promise to publish the profiles of prominent Artists in the “Art Meet Dance” Exhibition, Jos 2023, we present the list Profile of MARK RWANG.
Followers, admirers and fellow artists claim he marries philosophy, environment and social connotations in his expressions as demonstrated in his various art works.
He has a Bachelor of Art (BA) degree from one of the reputed institutions of higher learning in Nigeria, the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
MARK RWANG started his painting career at a tender age, shortly after his secondary school education at the St Murumba’s College, Jos, may have gotten his inspiration for art deep down from his gene, as his talent seems to have been well spotted early enough in life.
MARK was offered employment by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Jos as a Graphic Designer in the Graphics Design Department.
With his sojourn at the NTA, he was able to attend several professional courses that include going to the Nigerian Television College, Jos to sharpen his skill.
Such courses that he attended include – Graphics and set design, Props design, ENG Animation. He has also a Diploma in TV Production.
As a fit and practicing freelance artist, he has participated in several Art Exhibitions in and out of Jos, the Plateau state capital, located in the North Central Zone, in Nigeria.
Like the saying goes, a golden fish has no hiding place; Mark was commissioned recently by the Plateau state government to execute a mural design on the Plateau State Secretariat overhead bridge, the work is on-going presently.
In both conception and design, the Plateau State Secretariat overhead bridge art assignment executed by MARK RWANG is to showcase the people and landmarks in Plateau State.
The works of Mark will be coming on this Platform in subsequent publications.
