IMT ENUGU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION VISITS MORE STAKEHOLDERS

Standing: National President IMT Enugu  Alumni and sitting is Prof Austin Nweze,
the  Rector IMT Enugu

With committed efforts directed at achieving every goal set at any point in time, and doing so consistently, effectively, and completely; and within time line, the National Executive Council (NEC) of the National Alumni Association, IMT Enugu, led by Mazi Dr Agodi Kanu, has been pressing on and working very hard after election into office recently to carry out the activities captured in the first phase of her programmes and to complete the assignments in regulation time.

In view of the above, the IMT Enugu Alumni Association has continued her scheduled visits to stakeholders. Those visited recently are the Rector of IMT, Prof Austin Nweze, and the indefatigable IMT Enugu Alumni Liaison Officer, Barr Mark Eze, who doubles as the Public Relations Officer of the School. This development has no doubt furthered in no small measure the relationships and deepened the alumni's collaborations with the Rector and the Alumni Liaison Officer Barr Eze, as well as increased the benefit accruing to the parties with overwhelming interest at impacting the IMT Community tremendously.

Recall that Scoreline before now had brought you a report of the IMT Alumni’s visit to the first Rector of IMT Enugu, Prof Mark Chijioke, who assumed office as the IMT Rector exactly 50 years ago, precisely in 1973.

Speaking about the visits, the National Publicity Secretary of the Alumni body, Mrs. Lillian Anukwem, noted that the visits were conducted to update the different critical stakeholders of the IMT, including the present Management with recent developments regarding activities of the Alumni and the successes recorded in view of the forthcoming IMT@50 celebration.

The IMT@50 celebration is so dear to the Alumni and therefore, upper most in the activities of the National Executive Council, IMT Alumni Association, at least for now. To this end, the Alumni is pursuing vigorously the success of the event, thus is doing everything within her control that is legal and edifying to ensure that the event is marked with fanfare and supported with other activities that will make the celebration golden, memorable and purposeful, the Publicity Secretary noted.

Continuing, Mrs. Anukwem says “The visit also afforded the entourage of the NEC of the alumni body, with the President, Mazi Agodi in attendance, the opportunity to commiserate with the IMT Rector, Prof Austin Nweze, on the passing on to glory of his brother, the late Supreme Court Judge, Justice Centus Nweze. It also enabled the body to obtain from the Rector, firsthand information about the burial arrangements of the late colossus, the legal luminary. Similarly, the Team used the opportunity presented by the visit to the Alumni liaison officer, Barr Mark Eze, to also intimate him of the recent activities of the body, and to appreciate him for all his supports and encouragements every step of the way.

Mrs. Anukwem listed recognition of those individuals whose contributions have played major role in the overall efforts at lifting IMT to her present status as an outstanding and high performing academic institution in Nigeria as one of the activities that the alumni body will use the IMT@50 celebration to achieve, in addition to attracting to the institution infrastructures and several other impact driven projects, targeted not only at giving the IMT a facelift but creating the enabling environment for IMT to continue excelling and remain functionally active, celebrated, relevant and attractive.

Concluding, Mrs Anukwem says, the stakeholders’ engagement visits will improve the flow of information and communication between the Alumni as an entity and other stakeholders of the school. It will equally ensure ease of operations through closing of ranks and drawing partners close. This, will help the alumni to build sustainable collaborations, a vital ingredient required to give IMT more visibility, and to build stronger networking relationships, as well as attract more active, effective and resourceful stakeholders, those driven by understanding of the core needs, challenges and roles expected of them as critical stakeholders and success partners.
