JAH PUT AH HAND (JPAH): RAISING SUPPORT FRAMEWORKS AND SUPPORTING FARMERS AND AGRIC STAKEHOLDERS FOR IMPROVED AGRICULTURE PRACTICES THROUGH COMMUNITY, INDIVIDUAL INTERVENTION PROJECT (CIIP)

The international organization, Jah Put Ah Hand, also known as JPAH, which made presence in Nigeria recently with the appointment of a Country Director, Mr. Victor Yashim, a renowned development consultant and strong advocate for a more coordinated, more cohesive, and well enhanced economic driven development packages through a more functional, competency oriented,  and impact driven cooperative societies in Nigeria has been on top of his game since his appointment in the early part of the year, 2023.

Mr. Victor Yashim, in the last three months has been visiting Plateau State regularly from the National office of the Jah Put Ah Hand, in Nigeria, located at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, for the purpose of  engaging one-on-one with the various individuals, groups and communities, institutions and those in the academia, in Plateau State to identify from the onset of the Jpah Project the success stories, and  the major challenges that confronted previous donor funded development Projects in the state, especially, in the agriculture sub-sector of Plateau state economy. 

According to Mr. Yashim Victor, the Country Director of Jpah in Nigeria, the effort is to enable him have first hand information about the real challenges that hampered one way or the other, the efforts of previous project funders, and prevented them from attainment of the objective of their project and meeting the most desirable state, and in view of this hinderd target beneficiaries of the various interventions in  Plateau state  from benefiting maximally from previous projects when implemented in the state. It also affords me and my support team made up of energetic, dedicated, hardworking, focused and determined professionals in development activities, among them those with track record of performance at community, institutional and individual levels, who importantly are people driven and result oriented.

Continuing with this interview Mr. Yashim noted clearly that part of the objectives of the broad based efforts  about the previous projects executed in the state, is to ascertain what went well with the projects. He said it is not only necessary but equally central to the Project, for all the stakeholders involved in the Jpah project to work together, harmoniously, diligently and strategically to make very significant contributions in the collective works of changing the perspective of the various agriculture and agriculture related stakeholders in the state, channelling their efforts and repositioning their minds and operations effectively to the core objective of addressing decisively, collaboratively and strategically the various forms of challenges identified during the different categories of the stakeholders engagement meetings at the various stages, in the efforts to lay functional frameworks necessary for smooth operations regarding attainment of the goals and objectives of the Jpah, the organization he represents in Nigeria, particularly Plateau State. He used the opportunity also to notify members of the public that Plateau State after very careful study of states in Nigeria is chosen as flag of state for the Jpah Project in the country. 


On the interest of Jpah in the Nigerian Project, Mr. Yashim categorically stated that Jpah as an organization is in the Project tagged "Community, Individual Intervention Project (CIIP), serving as a vanguard, contributing her own quota in the collective efforts of the human race to relieve human suffering, and make life more lively, interesting, and worthy of living, especially for the vulnerable communities, without denying the haves,  well to do and rich the well deserved honour of enjoying their wealth. 

In view of the above the Country Director of Jpah in Nigeria Mr. Yashim,noted that the organization is in Nigeria, and by extension Plateau State to collaborate and support stakeholders in agriculture towards strengthening the practices of agric and agric related practitioners, to revolutionize agriculture, to improve income generation capacity of the farmers, and enhance their job creation and creative abilities, reduce unemployment, restiveness, and destructive tendencies of young people, as well as curb the wastage of skills, insecurity, criminality and other forms of tension. 



Other benefits of the Project in Nigeria according to the Country Director of the Jpah Project include food security, provision of farm inputs and machines, and different financial instruments. The target is to open up the economic space and throw up the numerous job openings and opportunities in farming and the related activities through well designed and carefully delivered human  capacity development activities, geared at unveiling the job creation activities associated with modern farming. This is in addition to arousing and deepening the interest, confidence and skills of communities, organizations, in particular the Business Membership Organizations (BMOs), also groups and individuals, in agriculture, to prepare the agric sector in Nigeria to contribute tremendously to Nigeria's economic development in a sustainable manner. 

The consequences of delving into a project of this nature without due diligence, and without the stakeholders embracing the opportunity effectively by understanding their roles and taking steps, practical and deliberate to ensure successful implementation of the Jpah Project entitled, Community, Individual, Intervention Project, the Country Director of Jpah in Nigeria deposited, and went on to call on all and sundry, to rise and support the CIIP, now at the implementation phase. 

Continuing, Mr. Yashim warned, "Raising army of youths in the country, with no clear direction in life, will expose these youths to various forms and degrees of exploitations, and create challenges of physical, psychological, and social consequences to the society. Agric and Agric related intervention, such as Jpah is presenting to the Country will help to give young Nigerians clear direction in life, Mr. Yashim concludes.
