In my practice as a Business and
Human Developer; one with unquenchable taste, hunger, huge appetite and special
bias for entrepreneurship; Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Development, I have
come in contact with people of different origin, background, orientation, sex
and age. Each of the categories offers very “interesting experiences”. They also present different talents,
skills, opportunities, and new direction, for Nigeria’s growth and sustainable development.
If your impression of “interesting
experience” includes “challenges” or
what most people bemoan and refer to as “difficulties
or obstacles”; you are on a jolly ride to GLOCALIZATION: going Global from Local. In case your thought about “interesting
experience” is in conflict with the inclusion of “difficulties or obstacles” please contact me after reading this piece. The interface will unveil opportunities for you.
From numerous field operations, activities,
programmes and projects, I have observed self-induced nasty habits, orientation
and belief which people hold that draw substantially from their struggle to
build self and the country. They want to do this without falling
short of God’s expectation for their life in the face of escalating pressure from the
promoters of modern World. There is are also other mounting challenges due to the absence, inappropriate
and inadequate infrastructure and/or other support services.
Among the internal factors, are those self-limiting
and self-destructive tendencies, wrong assumptions and misinterpretations that individuals hold that eat deep into the “CAN
DO SPIRIT” of every Nigerian Citizen. This self-destructive tendencies, steal from them their vibrancy, creativity and innovation.
The external factors include infrastructures,
policies, institutions and the likes.
Through this platform we will be
addressing the internal and external factors limiting the efforts of Nigerians
to GLOCALIZE. Our focus is to set the tone and pace for repositioning and galvanizing
support for placement and promotion of Nigerian products at the Global arena. We
shall follow issues systematically with the relevant bodies. This will be
conducted through series of well-designed and well-coordinated advocacy visits and
reportage, expected to produce noticeable changes across board.
It is my belief that you have understood
the message of GLOCALIZATION, and have seen the direction to go in this journey
of raising a multi-faceted platform where Nigerians from all works of life, especially
the youths will converge, close ranks and bridge the gaps that undermine Nigeria’s
match to stardom.
Because you care, you are a critical stakeholder
of GLOCALIZATION. Rise up, join
hands and let’s build this platform. Monitor closely events and situations, take
appropriate action if need be and report to us.
Push until the enforcement of regulations
on “local content” is a reality, not
the present oxymoron that it looks like.
Just the way we say it here… Be the voice!
