Industry, Mines and Agriculture, JOCCIMA, has been identified as a very viable
platform for promotion and development of businesses in Plateau state and Nigeria
in general. Dr. Idris Joseph Nubuya, the Executive Director
of JOCCIMA, who spoke to this medium after a one day sensitization workshop, organized
in Jos, the Plateau state capital, by the German Investment Corporation (GIZ) on

Industry, Mines and Agriculture, JOCCIMA, is a very viable platform for
promotion and development of businesses in Plateau state and Nigeria in
general.
“After a very careful but extensive
study conducted by JOCCIMA, which revealed Plateau state as the Most endowed
state in Nigeria, the Chamber immediately put machinery in place to ensure that
the potential of Plateau state as the most richly endowed in the country is fully
realized.
“This is why I can
authoritatively tell you that JOCCIMA is a viable platform for promotion and
development of businesses in the country. We’re therefore poised to take
Plateau state to the peak among the states of the federation, where she rightly
belongs in terms of business activities and viable option for peoples’
empowerment, job creation and wealth generation”.
According to Dr. Idris Joseph Nubuya, JOCCIMA is already affiliated
to a select national and international Chambers of Commerce. The reason is to
ensure that adequate collaborative efforts, necessary to tap the enormous
business opportunities in Plateau state is provided, and in particular to serve
the interest and need of the growing population of our members, and the entire
business community in Plateau state and the country, who presently demands from
JOCCIMA, vibrancy, creativity and result based networking activities not only to
drive their businesses but to compete favourably in a fastly growing and very
dynamic business environment.
Speaking on the one day
sensitization workshop, organized by the German Agency for International
Development (GIZ), the Executive Director of JOCCIMA, Mr. Nubuya thanked the
organizers of the programme saying, it is apt. It is one of the most
encouraging and very innovative programmes that the Chamber has participated
in, in the recent time. The experience will linger for a long time.
“It is indeed very exciting to
hear that you can register your business (enterprise, company) ONLINE via CAC
PORTAL and indeed heartwarming to know that one can start and complete business
registration exercise, with the CAC within 24hours”. The director noted.
He used the opportunity provided
by this medium to thank Barr Akinropo Omoware, Advisor, Private Sector Development
and Plateau State Coordinator, GIZ-SEDIN, for his presentation at the workshop and
indeed for given him and JOCCIMA, the opportunity to participate in the programme,
which he said he appreciated profoundly. He extends the same appreciation to Mustapha
Esq., Head, CAC, Plateau State Office, for his elaborate presentation and
demonstration of the key elements of the CAC Portal.
He also thanked GIZ, for inviting
a seasoned facilitator, Mr. Nnabugwu Chizoba, who deployed generously his
wealth of experience and skill to draw the attention of participants to very
salient but of course very key issues associated with the workshop.
