WELCOME ADDRESS PRESENTED BY 2ND PLATEAU DISTRICT COMMANDANT,
MRS. CHRISTIANA F. E. SIHITSE, DURING THE OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY OF 2017 CAMP
HELD AT THE CALVARY SCIENCE SCHOOL, ROCK HAVEN, 18TH APRIL, 2017.
THEME – CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS (Eph. 2.10):
PROTOCOL
I greet you all in Jesus name.
We thank God for making it possible
for us to gather here for the official opening ceremony of 2017 2nd Plateau
District Camp.
Our invited guests, despite your
tight schedules, you are able to honour our invitation; you are all welcome in
Jesus name.
To the Principal and Teachers of
this school, we really appreciate you for allowing us hold our camp in your
school. It is our prayer that God will continue to protect and provide all your
needs.
To my fellow Officers here present,
we welcome you to 2017 Camp of 2nd Plateau District. It is our
prayer that we will join hands together to take these girls to greater height,
and help them know that God has a good plan for them.
To the beautiful girls here before
us, you should know that the lord loves you and He accepts you the way you are
created. You girls are special in His sight, do not allow anybody to make you
feel that you are nothing in the society. You are great in the eyes of God and
you are created in God’s image, to do goods works. For that reason, we as
officers of this District, are pleading with you to obey all the rules and
regulations of this camp. When you do so, our Father in Heaven will bless us
all.
THE ORGANIZATION:
The Girls Brigade is an
international, interdenominational and Voluntary organization aimed at bringing
your girls to Christ through the four (4) square programmes, which are SPIRITUAL, PHYSICAL, EDUCATIONAL AND
SERVICE to find true Enrichment of Life.
OUR BADGE:
In the center of the Girls Brigade
Badge, we have a Cross which is the symbol
of Christ – below it is a Lamb which
means our light must shine out upon the world; above it is a Crown which means we must honour Christ
as our King; and behind all is a Flame
of Fire, which is the flame of
Christ living spring and our devotion to Him.
MISSION STATEMENT:
The Girls Brigade exist to serve
God and Humanity by training girls holistically to become followers of Christ.
VISION STATEMENT:
The Girls Brigade Nigeria envision
an amiable Christian interdenominational outreach that is self-reliant and
actively involved in the holistic development of girls and women.
PRINCIPLES:
The Brigade acknowledges Jesus
Christ as Savior and Lord according to the Scriptures and seek to fulfil its
aim to the Glory of one God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The Brigade witness to the standard
set by Jesus Christ for the whole world. The Brigade gives positive teaching on
the Christian attitude to the social evils facing its members.
CONCLUSION AND PRAYER:
As we continue with this programme,
may the Spirit of the Lord shower His blessing upon us; and may He guide and
protect us and help us to understand that we are CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS in Jesus name.
