TEENS CORNER – I’M PROUD TO HAVE A FATHER

BY PRINCE EMMANUEL C. UMAHI, AKA DE LYRICAL POET

♫ I’m glad
    That I have a dad
Who thought me not to subtract
    But add
So I’m always happy and not sad.
     Through all the troubles
      And struggles
     Daddy was always there
And he taught me that God is everywhere.

♫ He is the sunshine to the rain
And the rainbow that gives joy
    To every pain.
He is the perfect husband to his wife
And he represents Christ without strife
    He speaks like a prophet
And synchronizes harmony like a duet.

♫ He is a friend to every child
   And he is mild
   Without been a folly
   Believe me, dad is Holy
And he’s my one and only.
In every home, he is of utmost importance
  By prevailing over every annoyance.
Even when daddy had only garri to soak
He made sure that I had a bottle of coke.

♫ He always prays for a better tomorrow
Where there would be joy and no more sorrow
Been the first being on earth
He knows how to salvage his family from dirt.
    In every situation, he pacifies
    To every solution, he edifies
     He preaches the gospel
     And teaches nothing is impossible.

♫ He is an epitome of wisdom
    A symbol of exemplary norm
    An elder of repute
   A settler of dispute.
He is the lion of his home
The king with a golden throne
    An attorney of righteousness
    A judge embodied with meekness.

♫ Fathers are way exceptional
    Because they aren’t rational.
   That’s why I’m proud
    And I’ll say it loud
    To every crowd
    That “I HAVE A FATHER!!!”.

This is dedicated to Fathers all over the World, ahead of 2016 “FATHERS DAY” celebration, which comes up on Sunday, the 18th of June.
It is a call to all fathers to rise up, embrace and play the roles of your calling as FATHERS.
As you celebrate, remember the duty you owe to your FAMILY, ORPHANS, WIDOWS, the ENVIRONMENT and the WORLD at large.
On your honour, as a FATHER, may you remember to be a shining light to the youths of this generation, your generation, and generations unborn. PEACE to FATHERS. Proud of you!
