NIGERIAN COLLEGE OF ACCOUNTANCY (NCA), JOS RELEASES ADMISSION INTO THE CERTIFIED ACCOUNTING TECHNICIANS SCHEME (CATS)

The Nigerian College of Accountancy (NCA), the Training Arm of the Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN) has released the list of candidates admitted into the Certified Accounting Technicians Scheme for the 2016/2017 admission year.

A statement made available to  enjoined CATS candidates to check and collect their admission letters at various branches of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), located nationwide.

The statement while congratulating all the successful candidates and wishing them well in their professional development, enjoined them to be of good behavior. The statement, equally requested them to commence registration immediately, stating that all other information necessary for them to commence and complete their registration has been made available at the various state branch offices of ANAN, in the country.

For CATS candidates in Plateau State, another statement made available to this medium is calling on the candidates to check and collect their admission letters from the Plateau State branch of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), located at No 14 Zaria crescent, opposite OLA Hospital, near Labour office, JMDB Garden, Jos.

You will recall that ANAN and the Nigerian College of Accountancy had sometime in 2015, announced that it will start the Certified Accounting Technicians Scheme (CATS). 

Not long after that announcement, the sale of Application form to prospective candidates into the CATS programme commenced, in 2015.

The requirements for admission into the CATS programme, are: 
  • Five credits in GCE O’Level or its equivalent (English & Mathematics inclusive) 
  • National Diploma in Accounting National Diploma in allied field 
  • National Diploma in other fields with experience in Accounting functions not lower than Executive Officer or Clerical Officer Level 
  • National Certificate of Education in Accounting and allied fields with experience in Accounting functions not lower that Executive Officer or Clerical Officer level.

The CATS programme will run on part-time, and on week-end basis. Diploma holders will run CATS for one year, while the duration for Secondary School Certificate holders is two years.

Further finding by  reveals that admission forms into CATS are still on sale. Hence, those members of the public desirous of joining the programme can still obtain their application form at the various branches of ANAN with an application fee of N5,000.

Candidates in Plateau state are requested to pay the application fee of N5,000 to ANAN Plateau State Branch Account Number:-  20 11 93 45 23 at First Bank.

All Candidates should enclose a self-addressed envelope (30m x 22.5m) with N400 stamp.
